From March 15th to 17th, 2024, the Martial Arts Karate Seminar hosted by JKA Los Angeles was held in Los Angeles, California under the guidance of Shihan Tatsuya Naka.
Many JKA members from all over the United States gathered at this seminar, with a total of more than 290 people participating over the three days, and we were able to receive various guidance on each date.
During this seminar, various JKA exams were also held, and the JKA members enrolled in each dojo in the United States took the dan grading exams from 1st to 5th dan, and qualification exam of Judge, Instructor, and Examiner. They demonstrated the results of their
daily training in the exams.
On the first day of the seminar, we received instruction focusing on the basics, with an emphasis on how to use each part of the body and moving the center of gravity by using different Heian kata as well.
On the second day of the seminar, we received instruction focusing on kata. At this seminar, we received a total of about three hours of instruction, focusing on Heian katas and Sentei katas, especially in preparation for the world championships to be held in October this year.
On the third day of the seminar, the focused on kumite, and gave detailed instruction on basic center of gravity shifts and basic movements of the upper, hips, and lower body, as well as how to apply force efficiently and how to attack faster.

This seminar was held in a very homely atmosphere, with smiles and laughter throughout, and many guests also participated, including Sensei James Field from Santa Monica Dojo.
We would like to express our sincere gratitude to Sensei Naka for his exceptional instruction, as well as to the instructors and staff at HQ, the staff and volunteers at the JKA Los Angeles dojo, and all those who participated in the seminar, who all helped make this seminar a success.
