JKA Hungary celebrated the 50th Anniversary of JKA Karate-do in Hungary with 3 special events.

The very first trainings took place in October 1974, with the support of the Belgian Association and Miyazaki Sensei. Sawada Kazuhiro Sensei, who was Miyazaki Sensei’s assistant that time is still supporting our work today. Later Tanaka Sensei and Enoeda Sensei continued the work.

The last 8 years Kurihara Kazuaki Sensei is teaching at our main camp in the Summer (Budapest Gasshuku), he supervises the Qualification tests and our professional work.
We also have a camp in the Spring every year with Sawada and Ohta Senseis. At the beginning of March 2024 Ogura Sensei, Sawada Sensei and Ohta Sensei taught in the Paloc Gasshuku at Balassagyarmat, while in July, Kurihara Kazuaki and Chubachi Koji Sensei instructed at the Budapest Gasshuku. In the Autumn, in October our karatekas learned under the guidance of Naka Tatsuya Sensei.

Over 700 karatekas practiced in these 3 camps, 70 of them visited from abroad.

At the 3rd Hungarian JKA Karate Open International Tournament over 330 karatekas participated, including some members from JKA Czech Republic, JKA England, JKA Romania, JKA Slovenia and JKA Serbia.

We participate every year at the JKA WF European Championship, and every 2nd year at the JKA Europe Seminar.

We would like to show our appreciation for the 50 years support. We hope our work, events and results contributed to the spread and popularization of JKA karate, and through our work we could be valuable members of the JKA Family.
