Over 200 inspired Karateka from all German Karateassociations and lots of international
guests (Canada, Denmark, Switzerland, Poland, the Czech Republic, Norway, North Macedonia
etc.) came to Berlin to get practice by JKA instructors Imura Sensei and Shiina Sensei. After the
first more private training at Leidenkan-Dojo of the JKA Berlin the course really started on
Friday. There was a lot of exercise on the right standing position and the basic techniques
which were comprehensively explained, demonstrated and then practiced. Finally these
techniques were used for different Kumite exercises. Imura Sensei motivated us to do 10
additional repetitions more with the basic techniques; Shiina Sensei took us to our limits in
Kumite. Do it always faster, with more power and more focussed – much is left to do in the
future.
During Kata training we did all Heian and Tekki Katas, Bassai Dai, Jion, Kanku Dai and Sochin
after they had been carefully explained in detail. The focus was on the execution of the right
standing positions and the basic techniques.
