Funakoshi Gichin Cup 16th Karate World Championship Tournament : Report from JKA England

The JKA England National Team proudly participated in the prestigious Funakoshi Gichin Cup, showcasing the hard work and dedication of both athletes and coaches.

Under the guidance of Sensei’s Gary Stewart (7th Dan) and Dave Paulus (6th Dan), the team delivered commendable performances. We’re especially proud of Mariko Watanabe, who earned a bronze medal in Individual Kata, and Bianca Webb, who claimed gold in Individual Kumite.

JKA England Chief Instructor Ohta Sensei (7th Dan) also contributed to the event as a referee. We look forward to the next Funakoshi Gichin Cup in 2027!
