【FRANCE】Xmas Gasshuku – December 2024 – France
Under the exceptional direction of Naka Sensei and organized under JKA FSK (FR002), the Christmas Gasshuku 2024 took place in Boulogne-sur-Mer.
Thursday: Small Group Training
The first day was devoted to a Small Group Training session, bringing together 40 black belts in the traditional dojo of the JKA Boulogne. two sessions of an hour and a half, ensuring consistency. Naka Sensei’s teaching focused on: nebari movements, going beyond classical techniques (waza) by using the skeleton and the center of gravity rather than relying on muscular strength.
Participants enjoyed a friendly lunch break in the picturesque setting of the restaurant of the Golf Club de Wimereux, thus strengthening the camaraderie between participants.
Friday to Sunday: Gasshuku
The weekend marked the beginning of Gasshuku, centered around the theme of Budo Karate, with a record turnout: 184 pre-registrations, with on-site registrations bringing the 250 participants.
Under Naka Sensei’s meticulous instruction, practitioners delved into:
- Leverage
- Moving away from raw muscular strength,
- Drawing on historical concepts and biomechanical principles, Naka Sensei demonstrated the practical connection between these fundamentals and their effectiveness in kumite, leaving participants
The flawless organization of the JKA Boulogne team allowed participants to enjoy on-site meals, fostering an atmosphere of connection and conviviality.
Saturday Afternoon: Exams and Sayonara Party
The afternoon was dedicated to DAN grade exams and *qualifications for instructors, judges and examiners, a pivotal moment for many participants.
The evening was punctuated by a lively Sayonara Party, themed “All in Song!”. The event included a photoshoot, a festive dinner and a warm and lively atmosphere that made it truly unforgettable.
Sunday morning: Kata and technical precision
On Sunday morning, Naka Sensei guided the participants in a thorough review of the postures, balance and techniques of the katas. The participants revisited katas such as Heian, Tekki, Bassai Dai, KKanku Sho and Meikyo, closing the stage on group picture.
An European adventure
Practitioners from Switzerland, Belgium, Germany, England, Spain, Luxembourg and all other countriesFrance left Boulogne-sur-Mer with renewed health
