【ENGLAND】JKA England International Winter Course 2024

The 2024 JKA England International Winter Course was a landmark event, showcasing exceptional instruction and international participation. This year, we had the honour of welcoming not one but three senior instructors from JKA Headquarters:

  • Imamura Shihan (8th Dan)
  • Shiina Shihan (8th Dan)
  • Hirayama Shihan (7th Dan)

They were joined by JKA England’s Chief Instructor, Ohta Shihan (7th Dan), to deliver three incredible days of high-level karate training.

This course was the largest and most successful held in England to date, attracting karateka from 14 different countries. Attendees benefited from in-depth training in Kihon and Kumite, as well as a comprehensive exploration of advanced katas including Bassai Dai, Kanku Dai, Chinte, Jion, Enpi, Sochin, Bassai Sho, Meikyo, and Gojushiho Dai.

In addition to the rigorous training sessions, we provided opportunities for JKA members to grade up to 5th Dan and to test for international instructor, judge, and examiner licenses, further supporting their development and commitment to excellence in JKA karate.

Thank you to everyone who made this course a resounding success—from the instructors to the participants and the organising team. We look forward to welcoming you again for our International Spring Course in April
