Shiina Katsutoshi Shihan visit to Kirkland JKA, Montreal, Canada June 4-8, 2019

 

We would like to extend a sincere thank you and appreciation to JKA HQ for accepting our invitation of Shiina Katsutoshi Shihan. He was extraordinary in teaching and sharing his JKA karate knowledge with us here in Montreal, Canada. Not only was it about developing our technical karate skills but also the Japanese culture, JKA history, etiquette and proper behaviour inside the dojo.
Shiina Shihan taught in 4 different dojos, increasing visibility. This was well received and benefited dojos members. Our members were from young to senior. They were all very impressed and left with much to continue training. They are inspired. Strong spirit by all. True budo karate.
The Japanese community of Montreal was very honored by Sensei Shiina’s visit and the importance of his visit was highlighted by a private dinner with Japanese Consul General, Osamu Izawa at his residence. Sensei Shiina was also presented with a commemorative plaque by the esteemed member of the Canadian Parliament, the Right Honorable Francis Scarpaleggia, MP for the Lac St. Louis Region.
What a wonderful experience this was.
