INTERNATIONAL JKA BELGIUM SPRING CAMP 2019 with UEKI Shuseki Shihan

This edition of the JKA Belgium spring camp during the Eastern weekend was a great success.

The nice weather and the different excellent instructors gave all participants a big enthousiasm to come to the camp.

We could welcome again  Ueki Shuseki Shihan, 10 dan and Chief instructor of the JKA World Federation, followed by Imamura Sensei en Ueda Sensei, instructors from JKA HQ Japan.

For many years we also welcome  Bura Sensei (JKA Danmark & Chief Instructor JKA WF Europe),  Ohta Sensei (JKA England) and Larsen Sensei (JKA Norway).

With the 750 participants, from 10 different countries, divided in 6 different groups, we needed all these instructors. In this way all participants could profite from the excellent instruction.

Even the young people were not forgotten. They got instruction from the members of the Belgian National Team.

Starting from the Kata as a base all aspects of the Kata was given such as basic elements as Stability, correct execution of the waza, body posture, stances, rotation of the hips, hikite and also the application in Kumite.

By putting the accent tot he basics the general level of the participants got better.

Ueki Shuseki Shihan started every day with all participants together with kihon as warming up or with randori with the accent on working relaxed together, which was very much appreciated by the participants.

This great camp ended by throwing the traditional “eastern eggs” to the young people.

Also many thanks to the people who helped with the organization.

It was a great honour to have the opportunity to train in this camp with Ueki Shuseki Shihan, JKA HQ instructors together with JKA Europe instructors.
