Packed with students when JKA KDA hosted the legendary JKAHQ Yasunori Ogura vice Chief Instructor for their Spring Gasshuku November 2024 in Mandurah Western Australia. This was master Ogura’s first visit to WA. Without a doubt this top Karate master displayed a detailed and memorable week of great JKA karate at its finest.

When you think you have seen it all, master Ogura Shihan brings out amazing and effortless well refined techniques for all students to practice, known for his attention to detail, he emphasised the importance of correct repetition training, especially in our JKA Kata.

Master Y. Ogura at times was indeed pushing the boundaries teaching the higher grades Kumite and taking time to explain the finer details when faced with your attacker, his speed was scary and outstanding, backing up his amazing technical form as always.

His respectable, calm, and kind manner was impressive taking time to coach the younger individual students and reassuring them that by regular practice they will succeed. We all look forward to this top JKAHQ master’s speedy return to Western Australia asap.
