【NORWAY】Report from the official opening of Lyderhorn Karateklubb dojo #3

Lyderhorn Karateklubb is a member club of JKA Norway, located in Bergen. The club was founded in March 1989 by chief instructor Helge Sæle sensei, 7th dan JKA. Sæle sensei has since the beginning throughout the years introduced JKA karate to a vast number of students, and today the club has about 150 members.

For the opening of our dojo #3 Sæle sensei and Lyderhorn Karateklubb invited Imura sensei 8th dan JKA from JKA HQ to perform the opening ceremony. As special guest instructors we also invited Pierre Leiding sensei 7th dan and Dirk Leiding sensei 6th dan from JKA Berlin.

We celebrated the opening our dojo #3 with a gasshuku with three days of training. This was not only for members of Lyderhorn Karateklubb, but also members from the other clubs in JKA Norway. Thank you very much to all who participated, we hope you had a good time! We focused on the katas kanku dai, nijushiho, jitte, chinte and jion. And of course, also kihon and bunkai accordingly. We learned a lot, and had a lot of fun too.

Lyderhorn Karateklubb is very grateful for all who participated in our gasshuku, especially Imura sensei and the Leiding senseis who came all the way from Tokyo and Berlin to share their knowledge with us. Now we look forward to many more years to come training karate with our JKA family, hope to see all of you again!

Yours sincerely, Lyderhorn Karateklubb
