【POLAND】Report from Poland, Naka sensei, Kurihara sensei

On September 24, 2024, JKA masters Naka Tatsuya Sensei and Kurihara Kazuaki Sensei arrived in Poznań. While awaiting the training seminar, they explored the local area, visiting attractions such as Kórnik Castle with its garden complex and arboretum, the Museum of Armored Weapons in Poznań, and the Old Market Square.

On September 26, the instructors began the seminar with sessions exclusively for black belts and active instructors.

Over the next few days, from September 27 to 29, they conducted training sessions for all the karate practitioners attending the seminar. During the sessions, they consistently followed methodological principles focused on the precise execution of individual karate techniques. They demonstrated to the participants the importance of concentrating on nuances that distinguish master-level techniques from commonly performed ones. The instructors emphasized proper dynamics, maintaining balance, and movement synchronization.

The seminar was attended by 250 karate practitioners from various countries. In addition to Polish participants, there were representatives from Lithuania, Belarus, Ukraine, Germany, the Czech Republic, England, France, Israel, the United States, Switzerland, and Latin America.

The seminar not only allowed for the development of technical skills but also deepened the understanding of karate philosophy. The event concluded with a Dan grade examination, which 11 people took. Seven of them passed the exam successfully.
